Bridgerton Actor, Jonathan Bailey, Named People Magazine’s 2025 ‘Sexiest Man Alive’

British actor Jonathan Bailey, best known for his role as Lord Anthony Bridgerton in the hit Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’, has been named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2025.

The 37-year-old actor was unveiled as this year’s honouree in a feature published on Monday, becoming the first openly gay man to receive the title.

Bailey succeeds American actor and filmmaker John Krasinski, the winner from last year.

“It’s a huge honour. Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered — and it’s completely absurd,” Bailey said in reaction to the announcement. “It’s been a secret, so I’m excited for some friends and family to find out. They’ve seen me grow up and know the truth behind the ‘sexy man’ label.”

Born on April 25, 1988, Bailey has been widely praised for his versatility across drama, comedy, and musical theatre. His screen credits include Fellow Travellers and Jurassic World Rebirth.

Over his career, Bailey has won a Laurence Olivier Award, a Critics’ Choice Television Award, and received a Primetime Emmy nomination. He was also listed in TIME magazine’s “TIME 100 Next” as one of the world’s most influential emerging artists.

Previous People magazine honourees include Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan, singer John Legend, Ant-Man star Paul Rudd, Idris Elba, Brad Pitt, and Harrison Ford.
