Stallion Group, one of Nigeria’s leading automobile distributors, has expanded its MG range with the launch of a bi-fuel car, the MG 5 Sedan, and three others: the MG RX9 SUV, MG RX5 SUV, and MG T60 Pickup.
The automobile company unveiled these at a launch held over the weekend at the Stallion MG Showroom in Lagos.
Despite economic challenges, Nigeria’s auto industry has continued to wax stronger, accommodating new models of vehicles across brand lines.
Within the same weekend, Stallion Group and Elizade JAC Autoland introduced six new luxury vehicles to the market.
Speaking at the event, General Sales Manager for the Stallion MG brand, Josephine Nwosu, described the launch as a strategic move to meet the evolving needs of Nigerian motorists through vehicles that blend technology, efficiency, and value.
“This launch comes at a key time as the market prepares for the festive season. MG’s reputation for quality and innovation complements our vision to deliver advanced mobility solutions for Nigerian drivers.”
The launch spotlights the MG5 CNG (bi-fuel) sedan, a model that runs on both petrol and compressed natural gas, offering reduced emissions, longer range, and lower operating costs. The vehicle aligns with the Nigerian government’s ongoing efforts to promote cleaner, more sustainable transportation.
According to the General Sales Manager, the MG RX9 serves as the flagship SUV, featuring a 2.0T “Net Blue” engine, premium BOSE audio system, and a spacious three-row interior for families and executives.
She added that the MG RX5 brings a compact, urban-friendly design with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and smart infotainment features tailored to Nigeria’s modern drivers.
Completing the lineup, the MG T60 Pickup combines rugged durability with performance. Available in 2.4L petrol and 2.8L turbo diesel options, the T60 is built for both work and adventure, suitable for Nigeria’s diverse terrain.
Nwosu emphasised that Stallion MG remains committed to expanding local assembly operations and supporting the Federal Government’s automotive development plan.
“SUV models like the RX5 and RX9 are already being assembled locally. This expansion strengthens our position as a key player in Nigeria’s growing automotive landscape.”
With this launch, Stallion Group reaffirms its commitment to providing innovative, reliable, and energy-efficient vehicles that meet the lifestyle and economic needs of Nigerian motorists, which are now rare. When those orders don’t come, the businesses struggle.”
