IDL rewards distributors at 2025 awards ceremony

Intercontinental Distillers Limited has celebrated its valued business partners at the 2025 Distributors’ Awards, reaffirming its commitment to partnership-driven growth and unveiling three new flavoured drinks to expand its product portfolio.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said the event, held in Lagos, was an opportunity to appreciate distributors for their dedication, loyalty and resilience, which have helped sustain IDL’s leadership in Nigeria’s beverage market.

The highlight of the ceremony was the introduction of Chelsea Orange Flavoured London Dry Gin, Chelsea Strawberry Flavoured London Dry Gin and Ivory Cream Liqueur, which the company described as exciting additions designed to meet the evolving tastes of consumers.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IDL, Chief Engr Patrick Anegbe, commended the distributors for their exceptional performance across the country, describing them as “true partners in progress” whose efforts have contributed immensely to the company’s success.

“Our distributors are the backbone of our business. Their consistency, loyalty, and commitment have kept our brands at the forefront of the Nigerian beverage industry,” he said.

Chief Anegbe reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards in product quality, taste and customer satisfaction. He assured stakeholders that IDL would continue to innovate to meet the changing preferences of consumers and sustain its leadership in the industry.

Head of Marketing, Mr Mobolaji Alalade, said the introduction of the new products reflects IDL’s drive to offer richer experiences and greater variety to consumers.

“Great brands are not built in the distillery alone but in the hands and hearts of those who share them with the world,” he said. “These new introductions, Chelsea Orange, Chelsea Strawberry and Ivory Cream Liqueur, are luxury in a glass, crafted to appeal to diverse consumer tastes while creating more opportunities for our distributors.”

Head of Sales, Aare Hope Gbagi, disclosed that a total of 290 distributors were rewarded at the event for their outstanding performance during the 2024 business year. He noted that four distributors emerged as platinum winners, representing the top tier of IDL’s partners. The winners, Bimkem Nigeria Enterprises (Abeokuta), Ogbohu Nigeria Limited (Ota), Vazak Ventures and Biola Y. A (Oke Arin), are predominantly from the South-West region.

The overall winner, Chief Executive Officer of Bimkem Nigeria Enterprises, Mrs Oyewale Adebimpe, attributed her success to divine grace and the support of her husband, expressing appreciation to IDL for recognising and rewarding distributors’ contributions.

The company said the awards ceremony reinforced its commitment to strengthening distributor relations and promoting innovation to sustain growth across Nigeria’s competitive alcoholic beverage sector.
