Nigeria At 65: Adamu Congratulates Yusuf, Pledges Support For Housing Programme


The Commissioner for Housing Development in Kano State, Arc Yakubu Adamu, has congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the entire citizens of the state on the occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

The Commissioner extended his felicitations in a goodwill message to the people of Kano, according to a statement signed by Adamu Abdullahi, Director of Public Enlightenment.

He noted that as the nation marks another glorious year of independence, Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the remarkable achievements recorded in the country’s journey to nationhood.

“Even though our journey to nationhood was tough and thorny, with the determination of our leaders, Nigeria has attained a significant milestone as the biggest economy and largest democracy in the African continent,” he said.

He added that Independence Day is celebrated with utmost fervour, zest, and patriotism to honour the innumerable sacrifices of Nigeria’s leaders, past and present, as well as to celebrate the freedom the nation enjoys today.

The Commissioner assured citizens that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is working assiduously to address the state’s challenges, noting that several people-oriented programmes and numerous projects have been initiated to tackle multiple developmental needs.

Arc Adamu stated that the Ministry of Housing Development is fully committed to pursuing a robust housing programme to ensure that citizens of Kano have equal access to safe, affordable, and dignified homes, irrespective of gender or status.

He also commended the people of Kano for their unwavering loyalty and contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

He expressed optimism that the years ahead would bring greater prosperity, as the people of Kano and Nigerians at large would continue to benefit from the developmental strides of Governor Yusuf’s administration.
