The Lord’s Achievers Awards recently celebrated young leaders, innovators and changemakers at its seventh edition, themed ‘Icons of Impact’ and held at the Monarch Events Centre in Lekki, Lagos.
In a statement on Tuesday, the organisers said the annual recognition platform, powered by Lord’s London Dry Gin, honoured 12 outstanding achievers whose work demonstrates excellence, creativity and impact across Nigeria and beyond.
Categories spanned finance, media and journalism, literature, film and entertainment, visual arts, sports, health and wellness, societal development, agriculture, innovation and technology, fashion and lifestyle, as well as content creation.
A landmark moment of the evening came with the inaugural Lord of the City Award, presented to Ife Durosinmi-Etti, founder and chief executive of Herconomy, who made history at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity earlier this year by winning three Silver Lions for her pioneering breastmilk financing campaign.
Over the past six editions, the Lord’s Achievers Awards has recognised more than 70 young Nigerians, including Layi Wasabi, Adejoke Lasisi, Stanley Onuorah, Kelechi Okoro, Solomon Ayodele, Kennedy Ekezie-Joseph and Segun Adegoke, who have continued to break barriers in their respective fields while inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
Speaking on the company’s commitment, Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Oluwagbemileke Lawal, said the awards were more than an event but an investment in Nigeria’s future.
“For seven years, we have celebrated young achievers whose work inspires others and creates ripple effects across society. This year’s winners embody the courage, creativity and resilience we need to move forward as a nation,” he said.
The credibility of the Awards was reinforced by a distinguished jury, including Stephanie Busari, Senior Editor for Africa at CNN; Chuka Obi, Director of Creativity and Innovations at Globacom; Titilope Adesanya, Director of Operations for Africa at EMPIRE; Wole Odetayo, Chief Executive of Southwest Innovation and Tech Co. Ltd; and Femi Taiwo.
Others include Managing Partner at F.I.T Africa, Ladun Awobokun; Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Limited, Chinyere Inya; and Partner at Accelerate Africa and Future Africa. They were joined by Oluwagbemileke Lawal, Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited; Olusegun Akinyemiju, Senior Brand Manager for Lord’s London Dry Gin; and Oluwaseun Olaniyan, Partner and Head of Brands and Communities at The Influence Agency, the strategic engagement partner of the awards.
Senior Brand Manager for Lord’s London Dry Gin, Olusegun Akinyemiju, added that the platform amplified voices of change and excellence.
“Tonight’s honourees remind us that true leadership is not about titles, but about the impact we leave behind. This is the legacy the Lord’s Achievers Awards continues to build,” he said.
The evening also featured creative and cultural showcases, including performances from Seeing Through the Arts, Band Tronic, Loud Choir, Afro-soul star Qing Madi, hypeman Do2dtun with a live DJ set, and rising sensation Shoday, adding vibrancy to the celebration of innovation and impact.
