Nigeria’s 2025 Energy Conference: Opportunities & Risks


Ministers, regulators, and top industry leaders will, on October 9, 2025, converge in Lagos for the Annual NAEC Energy Conference 2025.

A statement by the organisers indicated the conference will feature keynote addresses from the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu; the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Gbenga Komolafe; the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed; and the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Bayo Ojulari.

The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria, who organised the event, said the theme is ’Nigeria’s Energy Future: Exploring Opportunities and Addressing Risks for Sustainable Growth’.

The statement confirmed the President of Masters Energy Group, Dr. Uche Ogah, as the chairman of the conference.

The organisers said the meeting will bring together policymakers, regulators, operators, and stakeholders across oil, gas, and power for robust discussions. Three panel sessions will focus on upstream growth, midstream and downstream infrastructure, and power sector reforms.

It was announced that the maiden NAEC Industry Awards will be unveiled at the event.

Also expected at the conference are the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Engr Felix Ogbe; the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, Dr Orji Ogbonnaya Orji; the Acting Managing Director/Gas Asset Manager of Neconde Energy Limited, Engr Chichi Emenike; the Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas Programme, Engr Ed Ubong; the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance, Engr Tony Attah; and the Managing Director of Seplat Energy Plc, Mr Roger Brown.

Among the prime speakers are the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Mr. Abba Aliyu; the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, Engr Wole Ogunsanya; the Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Energies Ltd, Engr Osa Igiehon; the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Engr Jennifer Adighije; the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power Plc, Mokhtar Bounour; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Major Energies Association of Nigeria, Mr. Clement Isong.

The Conference Planning Committee Chairman, Dr. Adeola Yusuf, disclosed that the 2025 edition will also feature a pre-conference workshop for NAEC members, sponsored by a leading Nigerian energy company.
