Networking Framework Launch in Lagos

Professionals in Lagos will next weekend explore a new approach to career and business networking as author and strategist Toyin Asada unveils a framework designed to move Nigerians beyond surface-level introductions toward building long-term connections.

The event, ‘Networking in Action’, will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at The Wheatbaker Hotel. It is expected to draw entrepreneurs, executives and young professionals for a full day of structured learning, intentional conversations and a three-course buffet.

Asada said the concept was rooted in the belief that relationships, when cultivated with purpose, can unlock opportunities and sustain growth.

“Networking in Action is more than an event; it’s an experience. Our goal is to help people understand that networking is not just about collecting contacts but about cultivating authentic relationships that open doors and sustain growth in business and life,” she said in a statement.

The initiative will also feature the launch of Asada’s Beyond Handshakes Networking Workbook, a practical guide offering strategies for building deeper professional ties. Sessions will include The Foundation of Networking and The Follow-Up Code, alongside speed networking, reflective exercises and icebreakers.

She maintained that for professionals and entrepreneurs in Nigeria, networking should no longer be seen as a transactional exchange but as an investment in sustainable growth.

Public relations manager for the programme, Inemesit Hanson, who is also the founder of Your Writing Camp, said the event was timely, coming at a time when many professionals still undervalue networking.

“Networking remains one of the most underestimated skills. Too often, people view it as a one-off encounter rather than an ongoing investment,” Hanson said. “What Toyin is offering is not just another event but a framework that helps individuals maximise the power of connection in ways that can transform careers and businesses.”
