Petroleum stations in Zamfara State are currently selling the products as usual without any hindrance.

There was also no hike in the prices of petroleum as earlier envisaged following a threat by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers that they would go on strike.

Checks by PUNCH Online have shown that all filling stations in Gusau town, the state capital, were selling fuel while motorists were buying the products without any queues.

Similarly, other filling stations outside the state capital were also transacting their businesses, as confirmed by many people who spoke to our correspondent on the phone.

A motorist, Malam Sani Ahmed, who spoke to our correspondent at A. A Filling station said he went to buy fuel due to speculations that the sale of the commodity might be distributed by NUPENG.

He said, “I came to fill my car tank because I learnt that there might be industrial action by the Dangote refinery workers.

“But to my surprise, I met this filling station almost empty as there was no queue.”

A fuel attendant at Danmarna filling station, Garba Musa, attested that the station had enough fuel to sell to motorists, lamenting that there was low patronage.

Musa said he was not aware of the ongoing feud between NUPENG and Dangote, stressing that, “Nobody told us to close down our filling stations”.

Meanwhile, business and commercial activities were going on in the state, as many people were not aware of the move by NUPENG to embark on strike action.
