InsurTech company FastClaim Solutions Limited has introduced an AI-powered platform, with its innovative FastClaim App, to simplify, accelerate, and enhance transparency in insurance claims.
In a statement on Sunday, the firm said that the app was rapidly gaining adoption among insurance companies under the Nigerian Insurers Association.
Founder/Chief Executive Officer Uche Okugo stated that the app was developed to address the challenges in motor insurance claims using smart technology.
“With the FastClaim App, users can easily submit claims by capturing photos or videos of vehicle damage directly from their smartphones. The app’s AI engine instantly analyses the images to detect and assess damage, eliminating the need for physical inspections. This speeds up notifications to insurers and reduces claims resolution time from several weeks to just a few hours,” Okugo explained.
He emphasised that insurance in Nigeria has not yet reached its full potential, with a poor perception of claims issues.
“Many people still believe insurers delay claims payouts. FastClaim is here to change that perception by offering a simple and transparent platform where policyholders and insurers can connect seamlessly,” he added.
While FastClaim does not directly settle claims, it empowers insurance companies to operate more efficiently while keeping customers informed in real time, resulting in a fairer, faster, and more user-friendly experience.
“By reducing reliance on manual processes and physical inspections, FastClaim helps cut down operational costs and processing time for both insurers and customers,” he said, adding, “Thanks to our AI-powered inspections and real-time notifications, most claims move from submission to processing significantly faster than with traditional methods.”
Users can inspect their vehicles using their smartphone’s camera, which captures and analyses photos or videos in real time. This automated damage detection eliminates the need for in-person evaluations and accelerates claim initiation.
Commenting on the app, NIA said, “The Fast Inspection Mobile Application generates pre-loss and post-loss inspection reports, helping assess vehicles before and after incidents.”
The NIA added that the goal of automated inspections is to relieve insurers from routine tasks, improve time efficiency, ensure higher-quality outputs, and reduce operational costs. This allows risk assessors to focus on more complex and strategic work.
“We believe the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, big data analytics, and advanced fraud detection will enable our member companies to streamline operations and enhance risk assessment and underwriting processes,” the NIA stated.
