NSIA Insurance Champions Ethical Data Practices in Nigeria

NSIA Insurance Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to ethical data practices and strengthening its partnership with the insurance broking community.

The insurance firm expressed this assurance in a statement at the Professional Members Evening organised by the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Abuja Area Committee, recently.

The event focused on data protection and privacy and drew insurance brokers and key stakeholders from the insurance sector.

In his address, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NSIA Insurance, Moruf APAMPA, emphasised the critical importance of data protection in today’s digitally driven insurance environment.

“Data is no longer just a back-office concern; it is front and centre of how we deliver value, build trust, and protect the interests of our clients. At NSIA Insurance, our people, systems, and processes are built on a foundation of transparency, compliance, and ethical data use,” Apampa stated.

He commended the NCRIB for selecting such a timely and relevant theme, highlighting the Council’s foresight in ensuring brokers are empowered and informed in the face of a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.

He also used the opportunity to underscore NSIA’s longstanding support for brokers and called for deeper collaboration across the insurance value chain.

“You are more than intermediaries; you are educators and solution providers to our shared clients,” he said. “For us, we believe in partnerships built on trust, consistency, and shared vision.”

The event featured an interactive training session on data protection compliance, reinforcing brokers’ roles in safeguarding sensitive customer information and aligning with emerging regulatory standards.

NSIA Insurance recently sponsored the 2025 Mid-Year Workshop organised by the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers Lagos Area Committee, which focused on corporate reporting.
