Nigeria’s economic regulators and private sector leaders are backing a new media campaign to reshape the country’s image and showcase reforms under President Bola Tinubu.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service, Bank of Industry, National Information Technology Development Agency and Sahara Energy are among the partners supporting A New Nigeria Is Here Season 2, a documentary series produced by Lead Projects Africa. It will air from August 12 on Channels Network, News Central Africa, CNN, CNBC Africa, AIT, TVC and Arise News, and stream globally on YouTube.
“This isn’t just a documentary series; it’s a cinematic journey into Nigeria’s transformative odyssey and economic drivers under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope,” Project Coordinator of ANNIH, Jide Peters, said in a statement.
He added that with endorsement from the Presidency, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, and executive oversight from the Coordinating Minister of the Economy’s office, the project seeks to showcase Nigeria as an innovation and economic powerhouse.
According to Peters, the episodes will explore the country’s “Fennaissance”, a financial and economic renaissance driven by fiscal reforms, infrastructure development and digital innovation. Each 30-minute programme is expected to reach an estimated 300 million viewers worldwide.
Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, urged support for the campaign, saying, “Buying made-in-Nigeria products is the only way to move this country forward.”
BOI Managing Director, Dr Olasupo Olusi, said he envisioned a Nigeria where “every young person believes this country will work for them.”
Information Minister Malagi said the initiative represented “an investment in the future of our children and grandchildren”, while FIRS Chairman Dr Zacch Adedeji called for collective action to support the President’s vision to “banish poverty in Nigeria”.
The season will feature government officials, including Wale Edun, Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives; Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development; Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development; and Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sports Development.
Private sector figures include Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola, Felicity Solar CEO Samuel Chen, Alami Capital CEO Olu Olufemi-White, Sahara Group Group Managing Director Kola Adesina, Interswitch Group CEO Mitchell Elegbe and SUNU Assurances Nigeria CEO Samuel Ogbodo.
Regulatory agency leaders such as NITDA Director-General Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, NALDA Executive Secretary Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo and NMDPRA Chief Executive Farouk Ahmed will also appear, alongside security chiefs, including Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and Nigeria Customs Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
Peters said the series would counter outdated stereotypes about Nigeria by highlighting investment-ready sectors, policy reforms and private–public collaboration.
“Our focus is to project, without compromise, the outstanding deliverables of the nation’s public and private sectors on all local and international platforms,” he added.
