Vitapur Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Vitafoam Nigeria PLC, has donated a prefabricated insulated building to the University of Lagos to support learning and manpower development.
In a statement on Monday, the General Manager of Vitapur Nigeria Limited, Kehinde Akintayo, said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and collaboration between industry and academia.
Representing the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development Services), Foluso Lesi, thanked Vitapur’s management and emphasised the importance of partnerships that equip graduates for the workforce. He added that such collaborations help align academic curricula with industry needs.
Lesi also acknowledged the role of the former Chairman of Vitafoam, Dele Makanjuola, in initiating the project.
He said the facility would enhance teaching and strengthen interaction between the university and industry, especially in workforce development.
Additionally, the Director of the Human Resource Development Centre, UNILAG, Lateef Odekunle, also highlighted the importance of cooperation between academic institutions and industry to address societal challenges.
