Tosin Kadiri Elected NIESV Lagos Chairman

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Lagos State Branch, has appointed a new chairman, Tosin Kadiri, to steer the affairs of the chapter.

The event was held recently at Muson Centre in Victoria Island of the state.

The Chairman of the occasion, who is the chairman of Adron Group, Adetola Emmanuelking, said Kadiri was not just assuming the role of 29th Chairman of the Lagos State Branch of the institution, adding that he is stepping into a position that reflects years of hard work, unshakeable integrity, and the deep trust of his peers.

He said, “I reaffirm my support for this new administration to work together to uplift the profession, strengthen the institution, and build a legacy of value, impact, and progress.

“I congratulate you, Tosin Kadiri, and the distinguished members of the executive committee on this remarkable milestone.

May your tenure be remembered for growth, bold leadership, and lasting transformation.”

Meanwhile, the outgoing chairman, Gbenga Ismail, two years ago, accepted the honour of serving as the 28th Chairman of this great branch with a heart full of hope and a mind focused on progress.

He stated, “I knew it would be a demanding journey, and it was. But I also knew it would be a deeply rewarding one, and indeed, it has been, beyond measure. Throughout this period, we faced many challenges. Leadership required more than intention; it demanded clarity, commitment, and continuous sacrifice. It meant navigating high expectations, managing competing interests, and maintaining our identity in the evolving landscape of the profession. Above all, it meant keeping our branch united and ensuring we maintained strong and respected representation at the national council.”

Ismail added, “But I did not walk this path alone. Together, we built on the foundations laid by those before us. Together, we pushed boundaries, tackled issues head-on, and pursued growth with resilience and purpose. And while I may have held the title of Chairman, the real credit belongs to all of you, for your support, your ideas, your constructive criticisms, and your unwavering trust.

“Leadership, I have come to understand, is not about standing in front. It is about walking with others, empowering them, and ensuring no one is left behind. If, in any measure, I have contributed to strengthening that spirit, then I leave this office fulfilled. Today marks a new chapter, one I embrace with optimism and confidence.”

Expressing himself, the incoming chairman noted that the real estate sector remained one of the most common drivers of economic growth and social stability in Lagos State and our nation.

He continued, “As estate surveyors and valuers, our work directly impacts lives, from providing shelter to facilitating commerce, from advising governments and investors to shaping sustainable urban growth. This responsibility demands integrity, technical competence, and adherence to the highest ethical standards.

“Our mandate as a professional body is clear: to maintain excellence, protect public interest, and continually enhance the capacity of our members. We must not only react to trends but also lead innovation in real estate practice, valuation, facilities management, property management, land administration, and emerging areas such as PropTech and green buildings.

“My vision as Lagos State Branch Chairman is that we shall focus on the following six key pillars: enhance member engagement, promote professional development, foster collaboration and partnerships, advocate for members’ interests, enhance welfare, and promote youth development.
