Routelink Group and Qualys have reiterated calls for comprehensive strategies to tackle the new forms of cyberattacks in the financial sector.
According to a statement on Monday, the partners made this call on the back of their sponsorship of this year’s Committee of Chief Information Security Officers of Nigerian Financial Institutions conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Co-founder/Group Chief Operating Officer of Routelink Group, Stanley Oduah, expressed the growing need for stakeholders in the cybersecurity sector to collaborate to check the activities of cybercriminals, hence the basis for being part of sponsors of this year’s conference of CCISONFI.
The 2025 CCISONFI conference with the theme ‘Cyber Resilience in a Disruptive World’ brought together cybersecurity experts, innovators, and leaders to share knowledge, best practices, and cutting-edge solutions.
Oduah explained that Routelink Group and Qualys were thrilled to be part of the initiative because both firms are passionate about empowering businesses and individuals with cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
“Our sponsorship of #CCISCONFI reflects our commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the cybersecurity space. As we recap the CCISONFI Conference, we’re thrilled to support this amazing community of cybersecurity enthusiasts. Attendees have benefited from insightful sessions, networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing,” he said.
The conference attracted participants from within and outside of Nigeria, with attendees benefiting from insightful keynote sessions and engaging panel discussions, as well as valuable networking opportunities.
Meanwhile, CCISONFI chairman Festus Amede called for the inclusion of cybersecurity studies in Nigeria’s educational curriculum, noting that Nigeria’s next generation of defenders would need the right tools and mentorship.
He said the conference was an opportunity for stakeholders to “rethink how to secure our systems, train our people, update our processes and policies and partner better with other financial and security agencies.”
