Lagos Entrepreneurs Awards: Celebrating Innovation

The sixth edition of the Lagos Young Entrepreneur Awards is set to take place this September, aiming to recognise and celebrate outstanding young entrepreneurs whose work is contributing significantly to Lagos State’s emergence as the fifth largest economy in Africa.

The disclosure was made in a statement on Monday by the organisers of the event, which is spearheaded by A List Events and Entertainment Company.

The awards seek to inspire a new generation of business leaders, reward excellence, and promote the critical role entrepreneurship plays in economic development.

The event will feature a range of activities, including mentorship sessions, lectures, pageantry, an official magazine launch, entertainment by top Nigerian musicians and comedians, and the presentation of awards in various categories.

The Chief Executive Officer and Creative Director of Layeawards, Oluwanisola Ashifat, said the platform has grown into a credible avenue for promoting youth-led innovation and providing visibility for both individuals and corporate brands.

“Layeawards has, over the years, gained the recognition necessary to give both individuals and corporate brands more hype, as the event packages offer varieties of opportunities to reach out to target markets in historical and unlimited ways,” said Ashifat.

The CEO added that this year’s edition would also sensitise, inform, and educate the public about the event’s objectives, highlighting the calibre of past and future awardees as well as the transparent criteria used in the selection process.

Ashifat noted that the awards would target collaborations with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, corporate institutions, and high-net-worth individuals for sponsorship, partnership, and support.

The statement confirmed that awards will be presented across various categories, including honorary recognitions for exceptional philanthropists and impactful corporate entities.

Ashifat encouraged the public to nominate high-profile young entrepreneurs, including chief executive officers and managing directors under the age of fifty, who are making notable contributions to the business landscape in Lagos State.

“If you have been inspired by a young, enterprising trailblazer, we invite you to nominate your ideal entrepreneur of the year in any of our categories,” he said, adding that nominations will close on July 15.

The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the survey and selection process remains fair, credible, and inclusive.
