Peak Milk has called on Nigerians to increase their daily milk intake and other dairy products to improve national nutrition and close the gap in local production.
In a statement to mark World Milk Day, celebrated every June 1, Peak Milk’s Marketing Manager, Omolara Banjoko, noted that local production meets only 40 per cent of the 1.6 billion litres of milk and dairy products Nigerians consume annually.
Banjoko said, “We didn’t just celebrate World Milk Day; we sparked a movement that connects nutrition with kindness.”
The company launched a campaign tagged ‘Stir A Cause’, which Banjoko noted combined nutrition education with acts of kindness.
“Through ‘Stir A Cause With Peak’, we reinforced our commitment to social impact and inspired support for everyday nutrition,” Banjoko remarked, urging citizens to support one another while spreading awareness of the importance of daily milk consumption.
She added that the campaign, which featured the celebrity influencer Asher Kine, received widespread participation, with influencer engagements and community outreach driving its impact.
Meanwhile, Brand Manager of Peak Milk, Peter James, stated that the brand designed the ‘Stir A Cause’ initiative to position milk as a daily dietary staple for Nigerian families.
James explained, “This initiative strengthened our commitment to breakfast nutrition, ensuring families see milk as an essential part of a healthy diet.”
He added that the campaign, which also featured street activations, supermarket promotions and direct engagement, reached over 500,000 Nigerians, with thousands participating by sharing their acts of kindness on social media using dedicated hashtags.
The Peak Milk brand is produced by FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria.
