An electro-mechanical engineering firm, Kresta Laurel Limited, has made a renewed push to groom young engineers through leadership and technical development as part of its 35th-anniversary activities.

According to a statement, the company celebrated its 35th-anniversary milestone with a Students’ Interactive Programme at its Maryland, Lagos headquarters, targeting engineering students from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and the Lagos State University of Science and Technology.

Chairman of Kresta Laurel and former Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Gbenga Daniel, explained that the initiative reflects the firm’s enduring commitment to national growth through engineering leadership.

“For 35 years, Kresta Laurel has led the way in Nigeria’s engineering sector by investing in knowledge development and human capacity,” Daniel said. “Our focus has always been on building a sustainable future through engineering leadership.”

Kresta Laurel Managing Director, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, added that the anniversary programme was designed not only to celebrate the company’s past but also to invest in the future of engineering in Nigeria.

“This initiative is not just about looking back; it’s about looking ahead,” Falobi noted. “We want to help young Nigerians connect their academic training with what happens in the real world of engineering.”

The event featured practical sessions and panel discussions on leadership, safety, and international quality standards.

Key sessions included Leadership and Career Development by Kehinde Sogunle, Fire Safety Awareness by Sunkanmi Adegorite, Workplace Safety by Habib Lukman, and Quality Management Systems by Peter Adewumi.

Academic representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, UNILAG, including Prof. S. O. Adeosun, Dr Oyekeye, Dr Lawrence Osoba, and Dr Obidiagwu, attended the event. Engr. Osho represented LASUSTECH.
