Dentsu’s brand director joins Cannes Lions jury


The Director of Brand Strategy at Dentsu Creative Nigeria, Temitope Joseph, has secured a coveted seat on the Creative Strategy Lions Shortlisting Jury for the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The Cannes Lions is a renowned global event for professionals in creative communications, advertising, and related fields.

The firm said in a statement that Joseph’s appointment highlights Africa’s growing influence in the global creative space, as he joins an elite group of industry leaders to assess the world’s most innovative campaigns.

His selection, announced by Dentsu Nigeria’s Corporate Communications Manager, Olalekan Raji, reflects Joseph’s strong reputation for strategic expertise in branded communications.

“He will participate in the online preliminary judging phase and receive complimentary registration to the festival, set for June 16-20 in Cannes, France. The Cannes Lions, widely regarded as the pinnacle of creative excellence, celebrates groundbreaking work that shapes global advertising trends.

“Joseph’s role amplifies Nigeria’s presence on a stage historically dominated by Western markets, highlighting the continent’s growing creative heft.”

Dentsu Nigeria, a subsidiary of the Tokyo-based Dentsu Group, continues to drive regional innovation, with Joseph’s appointment reinforcing its strategic ambitions.

“Joseph’s inclusion in the jury not only affirms his brilliance but also positions Dentsu Creative Nigeria as a centre of strategic excellence and thought leadership,” the company noted.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of MediaFuse-Dentsu, Emeka Okeke, said, “Joseph’s appointment reinforces Dentsu Creative Nigeria’s growing influence on the international stage. The Managing Director of Dentsu Creative Nigeria, Funke Adekola, described Joseph’s appointment as a collective win.

A distinguished brand strategist, Josephine brings over a decade of experience to the jury table, having led transformative campaigns for brands such as MTN, Nokia, Pepsi, Airtel, and Netflix.

He has held strategic leadership roles at top agencies, including Insight Communications, Livespot360, Noah’s Ark, and Seven-Up Bottling Company.
