Tantalizers Plc has announced its acquisition of Grand Media Projects Limited, a media and entertainment company co-founded by veteran filmmaker Tade Ogidan and actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, marking a shift by the food services firm into Nigeria’s entertainment and creative industry.
The move was disclosed in a corporate notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited and signed by the Company Secretary, Olamide Babawale-Mo, recently.
The development signals Tantalizers’ efforts to diversify its business portfolio beyond the food sector and tap into the growing influence and economic potential of the Nigerian creative economy.
Grand Media Projects Limited, founded by Tade Ogidan and RMD, is known for its footprint in TV, film production, and content development.
It added that the acquisition is expected to position Tantalizers as a player in content production, branded experiences, and youth-oriented entertainment.
According to the notice, the acquisition is part of Tantalizers’ long-term strategy to deepen its presence in high-impact, youth-driven sectors, particularly media and digital content.
Commenting on the acquisition, the Chairman of Tantalizers Plc, Adam Nuru, said, “Our acquisition of Tade Ogidan’s Grand Media is a quantum leap into content development, branded experiences, and event activations verticals. The growing intersection between food, lifestyle, and entertainment, for us, will deliver huge value to the brand and our numerous stakeholders.”
He further stated that the synergy between food and entertainment would help the company connect with new audiences and build a more robust consumer experience.
Also speaking on the deal, Chairman of Grand Media, Tade Ogidan, said, “We are super excited about the creative opportunities this acquisition presents and are confident it will create long-term value for Nigerians and indeed the world. Tantalizers’ tech-driven entertainment platform is a socially smart initiative and will be a game changer in the industry.”
Ogidan noted that the collaboration would unlock fresh possibilities in storytelling, digital media, and event production, especially as Nigeria’s youth population continues to drive demand for quality entertainment content.
“This marks the beginning of a broader push by Tantalizers Plc to transform into a multi-sector consumer brand, connecting with audiences through not just food, but music, storytelling, and event activations,” the notice read.
The PUNCH reported that Fast food restaurant chain Tantalizers Plc has set a revenue target of N18bn by the end of the 2025 financial year as the company unveils a transformation plan that includes expansion into the fishery and entertainment industries.
