Smurfs’ Animation Feature Starring Rihanna In Lead Role To Hit Cinemas On July 18


‘Paramount Animation has released the official trailer of ‘Smurfs’ feature animation film.
The animation starring Barbados singer Rihanna in the lead role as Smurfette will open in cinemas on July 18.

Synopsis: When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.

Joining Rihanna and Goodman in the cast, are James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Mariduena, Marshmello, and Kurt Russell.

Smurfs is directed by Chris Miller (Puss In Boots, Shrek the Third), written by Emmy Award-winning Pam Brady (South Park, Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken) and produced by Jay Brown, Ty Ty Smith, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and Ryan Harris.

The project is produced by Paramount Animation, Lafig Belgium and Smurfs rightsholder IMPS, with distribution by Paramount Pictures and Cinesite (Hitpig! and upcoming Animal Farm)
