Rapper Chris Brown Arrested Over Alleged 2023 Attack On Music Producer

American Rapper Chris Brown was arrested at a five-star hotel in the United Kingdom on Thursday for allegedly attacking a music producer with a bottle at a nightclub in 2023.

Metropolitan Police detectives detained the 36-year-old American musician at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester at 2 am on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

According to The Sun, Brown was taken into custody at a police station for questioning just hours after arriving at Manchester Airport on a private jet.

The allegations were related to an incident in February 2023, where Brown was claimed to have injured music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair.

The Met reports that, “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2am on Thursday, May 15 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023. Detectives are leading the investigation from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

Diaw initially claimed that Brown assaulted him in an unprovoked attack when the rapper and his entourage were at a club night called ‘Dirty Martini’.

The producer alleged that Brown hit him over the head with a bottle two or three times and then punched and kicked him as he laid on the floor.

Brown had been in the UK during a worldwide tour at the time.

The rapper is expected to play ten more dates in Britain and Ireland next month for his Breezy Bowl XX tour.

These shows begin at Co-op Live in Manchester on June 15 and conclude at the same venue on July 3.

He will also play at Villa Park in Birmingham, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Others include the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and Rathfarnham in Ireland.
