The Commissioner for Information and Reorientation in Taraba State, Zainab Jalingo, has said that the state’s agricultural base, mineral deposits, and youthful population are the major forces attracting local and foreign investment into the state.

According to a statement on Tuesday, Jalingo highlighted the state’s investment strength, while announcing the Taraba State International Investment Summit (Taravest 2025) scheduled to be held on May 21 in Jalingo, the state capital.

She said, “Taraba’s comparative advantages in agriculture and mining, supported by a young and dynamic population, constitute a compelling proposition for both local and foreign investors.”

The commissioner stressed that the current administration prioritised these sectors to stimulate economic growth and position the state as a regional investment hub.

“Taraba has become the most preferred investment destination in Nigeria’s North-East, owing to its deliberate investments in the security of lives and property, its strategic economic positioning, and the abundance of natural resources,” Jalingo remarked.

According to her, the upcoming investment summit with the theme “Unlocking Taraba’s Investment Potentials: Advancing Agriculture, Energy, Mining, and Industrialisation for Sustainable Growth and Development”, would provide a platform for investors to explore opportunities in these priority areas.

Jalingo added that the state government’s emphasis on ease of doing business and infrastructure development had further enhanced investor confidence.

She noted, “Taravest will not only offer insights into the state’s macroeconomic outlook and investment climate but will also feature sectoral analyses, financial strategies, and forward-looking discussions led by renowned economists, business leaders, and relevant government institutions.”

The Taraba official urged investors to take advantage of the state’s natural endowments and youthful workforce to drive sustainable development.
