The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate has assured pensioners of its commitment to addressing critical issues, including the payment of the N32,000 pension increase and other outstanding arrears.

This was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent on Sunday, signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi.

According to the statement, the Executive Secretary of PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya, reiterated the agency’s commitment during a meeting held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with executives of the Federal Universities Pensioners’ Association and the Association of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Pensioners.

Odunaiya noted that concerns raised by the pensioners, such as back-end computation, Next-of-Kin payments, National Health Insurance Scheme enrolment, verification of diaspora pensioners, and the payment of arrears, are being given top priority.

She disclosed that PTAD is actively engaging with relevant government bodies, including the Federal Ministry of Finance and the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, to expedite the resolution of the outstanding issues.

The ES further assured that the disbursement of arrears would commence once funding is secured.

At the end of the meeting, the pensioners’ representatives expressed their appreciation for PTAD’s efforts and pledged continued support to enhance the welfare of Defined Benefit Scheme pensioners.
