Gospel Singers Chinwo, Bassey, Bliss Among Top-streamed Nigerian Artists On YouTube


Gospel singers, including Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, and Moses Bliss, have emerged as some of the most-streamed Nigerian artists on YouTube Music for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025.

Their success was attributed to hit songs such as Mercy Chinwo’s “Excess Love,” which has gained 133 million plays and Nathaniel Bassey’s “Yahweh Sabaoth,” “TOBECHUKWU,” and “Jesus Iye,” which have amassed 25 million, 39 million, and 32 million plays, respectively.

According to data compiled by Debut Hub, Nathaniel Bassey secured 52.8 million streams, Mercy Chinwo followed closely with 46.4 million, and Moses Bliss 41.5 million.

The global rankings, however, showed Rema’s continued dominance.

Other leading Nigerian artists, including Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr, made significant appearances in the top 20878uh most-streamed artists.

Rema gathered 223 million streams with his hit “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez, which has reached a groundbreaking 2.5 billion plays.
