The Nigeria Food Summit 2025 has reinforced efforts to position Nigerian cuisine on the global stage, bringing together industry leaders, chefs, and policymakers to explore the nation’s culinary potential.
Held at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, the summit was themed ‘Making Nigeria a Global Food Destination’.
The second edition of the Nigeria Food Summit offered a platform for farmers, chefs, food tech innovators, and industry leaders to drive collaboration and strengthen Nigeria’s food value chain.
The summit convener, Gbolabo Adebakin (aka Chef Gibbs), emphasised the need to showcase Nigerian cuisine worldwide, saying, “Nigeria’s culinary heritage is one of the richest in the world, yet it remains under-represented. We must innovate and collaborate to harness its full potential.”
A major highlight of the event was Kola Oyeneyin announcing a $1,000,000 fund to support food businesses.
“The Nigerian food industry has immense potential, but without funding structures, growth will stall,” he said, urging entrepreneurs to take advantage of available opportunities.
The event also featured a Pitch-a-thon, where Tblizs Foods’ Elizabeth Akinwole emerged as the winner, securing one million naira in business support, a sponsored resort trip, branding services, and business advisory support.
