CSCS to host annual conference for Africa, Middle East


The Central Securities Clearing System PLC is set to host the annual conference of the Africa and Middle East Depositories Association in Lagos.

CSCS, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the event will be held under the theme ‘Shaping the Future: Financial Markets & Infrastructures as Catalysts for Transforming Economies.’

The CSCS serves as the central depository for equities, commercial papers, corporate bonds, sub-national bonds, certain sovereign bonds (such as the FGN Sukuk and the FGN Savings Bond), equity-traded funds, real estate investment trusts, mutual funds and commodities.

The AMEDA Conference has long been recognised as a premier platform for fostering collaboration among Central Securities Depositories and Clearing Houses in the region.

President of AMEDA, Abdulla Jaffar Abdin, noted, “The AMEDA Conference has always been a cornerstone for industry knowledge-sharing and fostering cooperation among market infrastructure providers.
