The Nigerian Exchange Limited has announced the listing of two new futures contracts, NGX30U5 and NGXPENSIONU5, as part of efforts to expand the derivatives market and enhance liquidity.
In a market bulletin issued on Monday, March 17, 2025, the NGX confirmed that the newly listed contracts are tied to the NGX 30 Index and NGX Pension Index, with an expiration date set for September 19, 2025.
According to the bulletin signed by Godstime Iwenekhai, Head of Issuer Regulation at NGX, “Trading License Holders and the investing public are hereby notified that NGX30U5 and NGXPENSIONU5 Futures Contracts were listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited today.”
The NGX30U5 contract, which is linked to the NGX 30 Index, was listed at 4,226.75 points, while the NGXPENSIONU5 contract, based on the NGX Pension Index, debuted at 5,079.75 points.
