Popoola bags management fellowship award


Dr. Abisola Popoola has been awarded the Fellowship of the Institute of Management Consultants in Nigeria for her contributions to agricultural innovation and international trade.

The Institute of Management Consultants, a leading professional body representing top-tier consultants, recognised Popoola’s efforts in modernising agriculture and strengthening trade ties between Nigeria and the United States.

In a statement, the institute recognised Popoola, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and an MBA graduate from Washington University’s Olin Business School, for contributing to agricultural sustainability and trade development.

“This esteemed recognition comes on the heels of Popoola’s remarkable contributions to modernising agricultural practices and strengthening trade ties between the United States and emerging economies, notably Nigeria,” the statement read. “Popoola has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing agricultural sustainability and trade development.”

Further, the institute spotlighted the awardee’s role as Project Director for the United States Department of Agriculture-funded Food for Progress programme at the American Soybean Association, where she led initiatives integrating U.S. soy products into global markets.

According to the institute, Popoola’s work boosted the agricultural value chain and facilitated economic growth in emerging markets. “Her innovative strategies have not only bolstered the agricultural value chain but also facilitated economic growth in regions with emerging market potential,” it added.

The Institute of Management Consultants affirmed that its recognition of Popoola underscores her leadership and expertise in linking scientific innovation with market expansion.

“Popoola’s receipt of the Fellowship of the Institute of Management Consultants in Nigeria recognises her leadership, expertise, and visionary approach to bridging the gap between scientific innovation and market expansion,” it stated. “Her work has significantly enhanced food security and boosted economic returns for both U.S. producers and global partners.”

Industry leaders have commended Popoola’s role in connecting U.S. agricultural excellence with international opportunities, reinforcing sustainable agricultural practices and trade solutions.

Further, it added that Popoola’s recognition highlights her impact on food security and economic growth, further positioning her as a key player in global agricultural trade.
