The Sokoto State Government has urged the newly posted Commissioner of Police and Director of State Security Service (DSS), to work in synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders to tackle criminal activities across the state.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu made this call when he hosted the security chiefs at the Government House Chambers in Sokoto.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and urged them to be proactive in their approach.

Aliyu also advised the security chiefs to work closely with the state-owned community guard corps and the people of Sokoto to achieve their goals.

He assured them of his administration’s commitment to supporting their efforts, noting that security is paramount to the development of any society.

The governor highlighted the progress made in addressing security challenges in the state, particularly in the 13 local government areas affected by banditry.

He attributed the success to the collaborative efforts of security agencies and the state government.

In his remarks, the newly posted Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Musa, appreciated the governor’s support and highlighted his command’s efforts to prevent and combat crime.

He noted that their strategies have yielded positive results, with a significant reduction in crime rates across the state.

CP Musa also commended the governor’s interventions, including the renovation of the police headquarters and the repair of a combat vehicle.

He assured the governor of his commitment to ensuring the state remains safe and secure.

Similarly, the newly posted Director of State Security Service (DSS), Muhammad Sa’idu Hassan, assured the governor of his agency’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in the state.

He appreciated the governor’s support and promised to reciprocate the gesture through hard work and commitment.

Hassan reiterated the importance of partnership and collaboration among security agencies and stakeholders, noting that it is crucial to overcoming security challenges in the state.
