Macron Slams Trump’s Gaza Relocation Plan

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron has tackled President Donald Trump of the United States (US) over plans to evacuate the Gaza Strip.

President Macron who made this condemnation in an interview with CNN said President Trump can’t tell two million people in the Gaza Strip to evacuate the area.

According to Macron: “You cannot come and tell two million people to leave. It is a humanitarian issue. Human beings. This is not a real estate issue, it is a political issue.”

Recently, Trump had declared that Israel would return the Gaza Strip to the US at the end of the ongoing war with Hamas.

He said the move would mean the resettling of Palestinians, adding that no US soldiers would be needed.

Taking to his Truth Social, Trump wrote: “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting,” Trump said on Thursday.

“Gazans would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region.

”The US would then be part of an effort to redevelop the enclave.”

Trump’s resettlement idea has prompted accusations that he is planning ethnic cleansing, and has drawn condemnation from the UN, human rights groups and Arab leaders. Analysts doubt it will ever happen.
