Ex-CIIN president honoured on 60th birthday

Recognition came the way of the former President of the Chartered Institute of Insurance Nigeria and Chief Executive Officer of Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers, Dr. Funmi Babington-Ashaye, for her illustrious career and contributions to Nigeria’s insurance sector.

The recognition came in commemoration of her 60th birthday recently.

At the Thanksgiving service of Babington-Ashaye, the presiding pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God (Christ the King Parish), Pastor Tunde Netufo, described the insurance expert as a quintessential professional whose impact is far-reaching in her chosen career and her service to humanity.

He noted that the selfless act of the sexagenarian humility and spirituality is well recognised in the church, as she has displayed a total commitment to not just the duty of man but of God.

He said, “Even in the face of adversity, she remained steadfast, making significant impacts through her work and passion for humanity.”

In her remarks, the current President of the CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, praised Babington-Ashaye for her pivotal role in shaping the industry and mentoring women.

“You have built on what you met on the ground and raised the bar for others to follow.

Your mentoring programs have empowered countless women to excel in their professions,” she said.

The celebration attracted prominent personalities from the insurance sector and beyond, including the doyen of insurance in Nigeria, Pa Olola Olabode Ogunlana; the First Lady of Osun State, Erelu Titilola Adeleke; and Dr. Nike Akande. Other notable guests included Venerable Ladip Ajayi, Bishop Peace Okonkwo, Mr. John Obaro, and members of the CIIN Council, amongst others.
