Singer Blackface Writes Open Letter To 2Baba, Annie


Popular Nigerian singer Ahmedu Obiabo, aka Blackface has written an open letter to his former bandmate in Plantashun Boiz, Innocent Idibia a.k.a. 2Baba, and his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay amid their divorce saga.

The 51-year-old songwriter shared the letter on his X handle on Wednesday 29th January 2025 where he appealed to both parties to be civil regardless of what they go through.

“I bid to you both good tidings Mr & Mrs Idibia. I am reaching out to you guys in this time to remind us to show decorum and be civil with whatever proceedings you may be going through.

“As role models, we should always set good examples for this generation to emulate, and the older generations to be proud l.

“Let’s keep it together in the family as every relationship has it’s ups and downs.

“I pray God gives you both the strength to scale through this.

“My regards to your families and my love to your kids. With Love Blackfacenaija”.

Recall that on Monday 27 January 2025, the popular musician and performer, 2Baba announced his separation from his wife, Annie.

One of Nigeria’s biggest celebrity couples, Annie and Tuface got married in 2012 and had two daughters together.

In a post on Instagram, the African Queen singer said they had been separated for some time and had taken steps toward a divorce.

The post was later deleted but 2Baba then released a video to confirm that its contents were accurate.

The couple had a star-studded wedding ceremony in 2013, an event which was widely followed in Nigeria even though it took place in Dubai.
