World Trade Centre, Abuja, has announced plans to unveil new amenities in 2025 as part of efforts to revolutionise the property sector.
The Vice President of the World Trade Centre, Mr. Ahmed Karim Adelaja, disclosed this while speaking to journalists at the end-of-the-year business and networking cocktail on Saturday in Abuja.
He noted that the efforts made in 2024 resonate with the Centre’s resilience in supporting the government to promote real estate growth and boost trade.
According to him, the body is working to attract international brands, foster innovation, and unlock global opportunities for Nigerian enterprises.
He said, “At WTC Abuja, we are more than a landmark; we are Nigeria’s strategic gateway to global trade.
“Our mission is clear: to attract international brands, foster innovation, and unlock global opportunities for Nigerian enterprises.”
Among the initiatives is the launch of a Trade Accelerator Programme to prepare businesses for global markets, participation in the Global Business Forum in Marseille, France, to strengthen trade ties, and the introduction of cutting-edge security measures to position WTC Abuja as Nigeria’s most secure commercial hub.
He further stated, “The Centre will unveil the exclusive WTC clubhouse, a private hub to enhance recreation, culture, and community well-being of residents. Also, in April we will amplify Nigeria’s presence by leading a business delegation to the Global Business Forum in Marseille to strengthen ties and unlock opportunities.
“Subsequently, by Q3, WTC will set a new standard for security in Nigeria through the integration of advanced technology with robust infrastructure to become the nation’s most secure building, just as we intend to initiate the Trade Accelerator Programme at the WTC Abuja Trade Hub, transitioning local businesses into export-ready enterprises,” he explained.
In a goodwill message, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, noted that the major aim of the ministry’s partnership with the World Trade Centre is to fast-track the provision of infrastructure like export hubs that will boost the country’s efforts in becoming an export economy.
The centre also signed two memorandums of understanding with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry and AfriLabs to foster trade, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Nigeria and across Africa.
The MOU with ACCI aims to promote trade and investment opportunities by leveraging the expertise and expansive networks of both organizations. Key areas of collaboration include joint trade missions, business matchmaking, and capacity-building programmes to stimulate economic growth. Furthermore, the partnership focuses on facilitating exports and increasing Nigeria’s non-oil export earnings to diversify the economy and enhance global trade competitiveness.
The agreement with AfriLabs, a Pan-African network of over 450 innovation hubs, focuses on advancing digital trade, technology commercialisation, and entrepreneurship across Africa.
This partnership emphasises cross-promotion of events, ecosystem convening, and exploring opportunities in sectors like agriculture, health, and education.
