Osun pledges support for diasporan investors

Osun State Government has declared readiness to support indigenes of the state living in the diaspora willing to bring their investments into the state.

The government also said those interested in taking their investments to the rural communities would benefit more from the business-friendly environment, security and stronger infrastructural amenities to enable them to break even without stress.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Abiodun Ojo, shortly after a facility tour of Prinaj Resort and Suites, a 35-room hotel in Ere-Ijesha, Osun State.

According to the commissioner, the facility, which has an elevator, a swimming pool, a 1500-capacity hall, lawn tennis court, among other recreational facilities, has enhanced economic activities in its host community.

He commended the Chairman of Prinaj Group, a United States of America-based professor, Wole Ajifolokun, for assisting the state government to create jobs for the youth in the area.

He assured that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke was favourably disposed to collaborate with local and international investors willing to create jobs through their investments in the state.

“We are committed to creating an ecosystem that supports tourism and cultural development. This includes improving the road networks leading to tourist destinations, as accessibility is a critical factor in driving tourism growth.

“We recognise the need for facilities that attract both investors and visitors. Our priority is to revamp the existing infrastructure while ensuring that the roads and transportation systems align with our vision for a sustainable cultural and tourism industry.

“This kind of facility is assisting the government to carry out key functions of job creation. It is also helping us to stimulate the economy of this community and beyond. We will continue to encourage investors from all parts of the globe to bring this kind of facility to our communities, especially to rural areas in the state,” Ojo mentioned.

He added that jobs were being created, the local economy was being stimulated and the people were the better for it.

“We will continue to provide an enabling environment to investors interested in partnering with us. I am impressed with this facility and the government will be ready to assist in ensuring its profitable use in whatever way possible,” Ojo said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Prinaj Group, Ajifolokun, commended Adeleke’s commitment to ensuring business business-friendly environment in the state.

Ajifolokun, who was represented by a former Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, further said, “The facility here is at par with the standard available anywhere in the world. It has put this community on the world map. And putting this kind of investment here must be supported by the government to encourage others interested in supporting the Osun economy with investment.”
