9PSB empowers schools with financial literacy

To mark its fourth anniversary, 9 Payment Service Bank has reinforced its commitment to financial inclusion and education by organising financial literacy sessions and donating 10,000 branded exercise books to schools across the country.

In a statement, the firm disclosed that the beneficiary schools included Crown Jewel College in Lagos; LEA Primary School in Abuja; Kano Capital School in Kano and Shokwari Junior Secondary School in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Speaking during the donation ceremony at Crown Jewel College, Lagos, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of 9PSB, Branka Mracajac, emphasised the significance of the initiative.

“This is our way of adding value to society. We are confident that these educational sessions and book donations will enhance students’ financial knowledge, money management skills, and overall preparation for their future,” Mracajac said.

She added that financial literacy was central to the bank’s mission to promote financial inclusion in Nigeria, noting, “At 9PSB, we understand that financial literacy begins with education. These books and the sessions held will play a pivotal role in the academic growth of students and empower them to make informed financial decisions in an increasingly digital world.”

The Principal of Crown Jewel College, Remilekun Fadeyi, expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying, “On behalf of the school management and students, we sincerely appreciate this generous contribution. These books will significantly enhance our students’ learning experience, and the financial literacy session has broadened their understanding of money management.”

9PSB noted that the initiative underscored its broader Corporate Social Responsibility strategy aimed at bridging the financial inclusion gap and supporting education in underserved communities.

9PSB and RoutePay recently called on micro, small, and medium enterprises in Nigeria to embrace digital financial solutions to improve their operations and profitability.
