2Baba Apologises Over Viral ‘Men Not Built For One Woman’ Comment

Music sensation, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has issued a public apology to his wife, Natasha, their children, and his fans, following the backlash that trailed his recent comments about male sexuality and monogamy.

The singer, during a recent podcast appearance, stirred national debate after he asserted that men are not biologically built to remain sexually faithful to one woman, even when they are deeply in love.

“A man is not built to sexually be with one woman,” 2Baba said. “A man can love one woman die, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with only one woman. It’s the biology of man.”

The statement sparked outrage across social media platforms, with critics accusing the award-winning artiste of promoting toxic masculinity and justifying infidelity.

While some came to his defence, describing his comments as “uncomfortable but honest,” the dominant reaction was one of disappointment, especially among his female fans and followers of his decades-long love story with his wife.

Responding to the criticism, 2Baba posted a video late Tuesday night where he expressed deep remorse, describing his earlier remarks as “unlegendary.”

“I know I f**ked up with what I said and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it,” he admitted.

“I apologise to my fans and most importantly, my wife, the love of my life, Natasha, and also my kids. I’m terribly sorry. That’s not who I am.”

The apology has since gone viral, with reactions split between forgiveness and continued criticism.

While some praised the veteran singer for owning up to his mistake, others questioned the sincerity of the apology, citing past controversies around his marital life.

2Baba, widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest musical icons, has long been in the public eye not just for his music, but for his complex romantic history, especially when he announced his separation from his longtime love, Annie Macauley.
