2Baba Accuses Own Family Of Repeating What They Did To Annie With Natasha

Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has broken his silence over the growing tension surrounding his marriage to Natasha, accusing his family members of repeating the same pattern of interference he said his ex-wife, Annie Macaulay, once faced.

In a particularly pointed remark, he stated, “I am a very peaceful person… This is getting out of hand. They did the same thing to Annie. My family did the same thing to Annie… I don’t know if my family knows what they are doing.”

The controversy, which has dominated social media in recent days, reportedly began in the United Kingdom, where Natasha was heard raising her voice during a heated argument with the singer, an incident that drew the attention of UK authorities and led to 2Baba’s brief arrest, according to viral reports.

Tensions escalated during a heated Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where 2Baba and Natasha exchanged harsh words in real time, leaving viewers alarmed at the intensity of the dispute.

Adding to the public drama was a message from 2Baba’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, which many interpreted as a sign that the family had become heavily involved in the unfolding situation.

Also, 2baba’s family has officially petitioned the police, accusing the Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, of multiple offences, including assault, bigamy, and financial misappropriation.

They alleged she had physically assaulted 2Baba during incidents in both the United Kingdom and Abuja, unlawfully accessed and transferred funds from his phone and bank accounts, seized his personal property and travel documents (including his passport), and blocked him from honouring business engagements and performances.

In a viral video, 2Baba pushed back strongly against claims that he needed rescue, insisting instead that some family members were inflaming the situation.

“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand, so I have to say something here… I am a grown man and believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with,” he said.

“My family have been trying to say they want to save me, but they are actually destroying me, and they have killed someone’s daughter’s character — they literally killed somebody. Natasha is getting death threats right now.

“Fine, we have had our quarrels, but who doesn’t quarrel with their spouses? This is getting out of hand. I am perfectly okay… I did my show recently in Abuja, people saw me. How can you say you want to save me but you are messing my life up? This is my own family. It’s unacceptable.”
