Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed yesterday said he would announce his new direction on Thursday, signaling a possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said this while receiving a delegation of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal.
Mohammed said all efforts to reconcile differences in the PDP had failed, leaving him with limited options but to consider joining another party.
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said: “I have pursued all avenues for reconciliation, but they have not worked. “There is mounting pressure on me, and we have set up committees both at the national level in Abuja and in Bauchi to explore available options.”
