17 companies grow market cap to N11tn


A total of 17 companies across various sectors have achieved a combined market capitalisation of approximately N11.22tn on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, with contributions from leading players in the consumer goods, food, and personal household products sectors.

Golden Guinea Brewery PLC reported a market capitalisation of N8.85bn, with a share price of N8.64, holding steady with no percentage change, and recording a modest trade volume of 100 shares.

Guinness Nigeria PLC stood out in the beverages sector with a market cap of N153.33bn. The company’s shares closed at N70.00, reflecting a 7.69 per cent increase in value, supported by 2.97m shares traded in 64 deals.

International Breweries PLC had a market cap of N858.29bn. Its share price of N5.10 represented a decline of 45 per cent, and the company saw 1.17m shares exchanged across 45 trades.

Nigerian Breweries PLC closed with a market capitalisation of N991.46bn. The company’s stock price appreciated slightly by 0.16 per cent, closing at N32.00, while 16.19m shares were exchanged in 101 deals.

In the food products sector, BUA Foods PLC recorded a significant market capitalisation of N7.47tn, with its share price standing at N415.00. The company saw 7.52m shares change hands, though the stock did not show any percentage change.

Dangote Sugar Refinery PLC posted a market cap of N447.61bn, with a 10 per cent increase in its share price, which closed at N36.85. A total of 4.59m shares were traded in 218 transactions.

Honeywell Flour Mill PLC saw its market capitalisation rise to N80.49bn, driven by a 6.39 per cent increase in its share price, which closed at N10.15. The company recorded 10.03m shares exchanged across 433 trades.

Multi-Trex Integrated Foods PLC recorded a modest market cap of N1.62bn, with no percentage change and no shares traded during the session.

Nigerian Flour Mills PLC closed with a market capitalisation of N8.82bn, with its stock price increasing by 9.76 per cent to N49.50. The company traded 387,568 shares in 52 deals.

Nascon Allied Industries PLC reached a market cap of N104.04bn, with a share price of N38.50, reflecting a 10 per cent increase. The company saw 13.22m shares traded in 444 transactions.

Union Dicon Salt PLC posted a market cap of N2.05bn, with its stock price remaining at N7.50. The company saw a small trade volume of 12,531 shares in four deals.

In the diversified food products category, Cadbury Nigeria PLC reported a market capitalisation of N51.99bn, with its share price closing at N22.80, showing no percentage change. The company saw 198,088 shares traded in 53 deals.

Nestle Nigeria PLC, one of the largest players in the food products sector, posted a market capitalisation of N693.57bn. Its share price, however, decreased by 0.79 per cent, closing at N875.00. The company recorded 161,716 shares exchanged.

Nigerian Enamelware PLC had a modest market cap of N1.47bn, with its share price holding steady at N19.30, trading 400 shares in one deal.

Vitafoam Nigeria PLC’s market capitalisation stood at N30.02bn, with a decline of 3.81 per cent in its share price, which closed at N24.00. The company traded 2.73m shares in 61 deals.

PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC reported a market cap of N109.19bn, with its stock price unchanged at N27.50. The company saw 303,207 shares traded in 51 transactions.

Unilever Nigeria PLC closed with a market capitalisation of N206.82bn. Its share price rose by 3.90 per cent to N36.00, with 512,139 shares traded across 72 deals.

The PUNCH reported that Nigeria’s beverage and food sectors have collectively achieved a total market capitalisation of N10.84tn, according to end-of-Wednesday trading data on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
